We're here to help families in our communities by not only providing financial solutions at every life stage, but to help them make their dreams come true. So, what are you dreaming about? Now is the perfect time to start teaching children the importance of saving for the future. Our Youth Savings account is designed to help children succeed financially from a young age, throughout life, and is available for members age 17 and younger with a parent or guardian joint on their account. If you're already a member of The Southern, anyone related to you by blood, marriage or adoption is eligible for membership.
Learning to Save
We want to teach three important financial concepts: Save, Share, and Spend. Joining The Southern gives each child their own savings account. With the help of a qualified adult, kids can watch their savings grow by accessing their account with Online Banking. Setting up small payroll allotments or bringing your kiddo into a nearby branch with their piggy banks, allowance money, or gifts to deposit will help their savings grow as well.
As a youth member, kids will receive a handful of new member goodies from mailed newsletters with fun activities to a birthday card during the month of their birthday.
